We’ve written before about just how lucky we are to live so close to Lake Macquarie and to have so many wonderful boating and fishing customers who reside in Lake Mac and its surrounds.
Today we thought we’d share some information and details on Lake Macquarie boat ramp and jetty facilities so that you can get out there and experience it for yourself!
Boating Lake Macquarie
SPOTLIGHT: BOATING LAKE MACQUARIE
Great location between Sydney and Newcastle, handy to us located here at Port Stephens.
Over 170km of shoreline, and 8km at the widest section of the Lake
The average depth is between three to eight metres (varies for Swansea Channel and some of the bays found throughout the Lake).
Arcadia Vale Public Jetty and Baths
Alexander Parade, Arcadia Vale
This is a timber jetty and buoyed area, with no protective netting or barriers. Toilet facilities are available.
Balcolyn Boat Ramp
Hall Reserve, 55 Balcolyn Street, Balcolyn
This reserve has a concrete ramp that is in good condition. Fish cleaning table and toilet facilities are available but access and parking is a gravel surface.
Balcolyn Boat Ramp (Shingle Splitters Point)
Queen Street, Balcolyn
There is a concrete ramp with gravel access and limited parking. The water is shallow with a navigable channel. Toilets are a 60m walk away in the park area.
Balmoral Boat Ramp and Jetty
Balmoral Place Reserve, Balmoral
This is a ramp with a timber jetty parallel to assist with safety of users.
Parking is limited and is either on the gravel or the grass. Public toilets facilities are approximately 100m away in a nearby park.
Belmont Baths
Brooks Parade, Belmont
This is a fully enclosed swimming area, with a jetty and an attached accessible ramp with amenities.
Belmont Public Jetty
Corner Macquarie Street and Brooks Parade, Belmont
Timber jetty with ferry boat access and pump out facility available. There is also a water supply. Toilets are 100m along the foreshore.
Belmont South Boat Ramp
Paley Crescent, Belmont South
A 6m wide ramp with a sealed car park nearby. The water is shallow but has a navigable channel. A fish cleaning table is available and toilets are 50m away in the park.
Bennett Park Boat Ramp
Dilkera Avenue, Valentine
The 8m wide concrete ramp with a sealed parking area. Toilets are within 40m. Slop hopper available for portaloo waste disposal. Foreshore park is suitable for picnics, walking and bicycle riding.
Blacksmiths Boat Ramp and jetty
Ungala Road, Blacksmiths
The wide concrete ramp runs into an internal beach protected from wave surges. Pontoon jetty at ramp. Parking areas are sealed, and there is a fishing table and lighting.
Bolton Point Boat Ramp
Middle Point Road, Bolton Point
There is a 6m wide ramp with a sealed parking area. Toilets are 100m away.
Bolton Point Public Jetty
End of Middle Point Road, Bolton Point
Old style construction timber jetty. Toilets 50 metres away in the park.
Bonnells Bay Boat Ramp
Pendlebury Park, Grand Parade, Bonnells Bay
The ramp is concrete with sealed access and parking. Facilities available are a fish cleaning table, toilets, water and lighting.

Aloha Close, Bonnells Bay
Timber jetty in relatively shallow water. No water or toilet facilities are available.
Brightwaters Public Jetty
Lake View Avenue, Brightwaters
Timber jetty and buoyed vessel exclusion area. Toilet facilities available.
Cams Wharf Baths

Buoyed vessel exclusion area, without protective netting or barriers. Fresh water showers and toilets are available.

A timber jetty in relatively shallow water. Toilet/change facilities are available.
Croudace Bay Boat Ramp

15m wide concrete ramp. Fish cleaning table. Sealed and grass car parking area. Toilets 100m away along the shoreline.
Dora Creek Boat Ramp

A concrete ramp with a large sealed parking area and a fish cleaning table.
Dora Creek Public Jetty

Timber jetty parallel to the shoreline. Relatively shallow water depth. Public toilets at the community centre.
Eleebana Boat Ramp
Lions Park, Macquarie Drive, Eleebana
A 14m wide concrete ramp with sealed access and car parking. Toilets and picnic shelter adjoining.
Green Point Reserve Jetty
Off The Shores Way, Belmont
Timber Jetty is suitable for medium-sized keel vessels. Toilets are available 200m away in the picnic area.
Little Wangi Public Jetty
155 Watkins Road, Wangi Wangi
Timber jetty suitable for shallow-draft vessels. No water or toilet facilities are available.
Marks Point Boat Ramp (Naru Reserve)

A concrete ramp with a large gravel parking area.

A concrete ramp is suitable for very shallow draft vessels only. Roadside parking is available but the street is reasonably narrow.

A 12m wide concrete ramp with a nearby parking area that’s both sealed and grassed. Fish cleaning table.
Morisset Park Boat Ramp
Lakeview Road, Morisset Park
A concrete ramp with a parking area that’s sealed but limited in size. Barbecue facilities are available and the toilets are 500m away.
Nords Wharf Boat Ramp

A concrete ramp without toilets or water facilities.

Old style construction timber jetty. Limited on-street parking well away from the jetty. Freshwater tap/shower.
Pelican Boat Ramp

Pelican boat ramp features two boat lanes with twin wave-attenuating pontoons that provide berthing amenities for launching and retrieval of boats.

Older style construction timber jetty, located near the Marine Rescue Base. Water supply available in the park. Toilets 200m away in the park.
Rathmines ‘F’ Jetty
Rathmines Park; off Dorrington Road, Rathmines
Older style construction timber jetty, suitable for use by medium-sized keel vessels. Toilet/change facilities.
Rathmines Boat Ramp
Styles Point; Off Overhill Road, Rathmines
A concrete ramp with toilets and water nearby. Concrete jetty with pump-out facility adjoining the ramp and suitable for medium-sized keel vessels.
Rathmines Officers Baths Jetty
North end of Stilling Street, Rathmines
Timber jetty and buoyed area without protective netting or barriers.
Rathmines Park Boat Ramp
Off Dorrington Road or Stilling Street, Rathmines
A very large concrete ramp in good condition. Adjoining a smaller ramp has improved access for shallow-draft vessels. Toilets are 150m away in the park.
Speers Point Boat Ramp

There are two concrete ramps with a sealed parking area and lighting. There is a fish cleaning table and toilets about 150m away in the park.
Speers Point Public Jetty

A new public jetty is currently under construction at Speers Point, and is scheduled to open in early 2020.

Sunshine Boat Ramp
Sunshine Reserve, Sunshine
A concrete ramp with sealed access and parking. The area is lit and toilets are available in the park adjoining.
Sunshine Public Jetty and Baths

Timber jetty and buoyed area without protective netting or barriers. Toilets available. Marine waste receptacle available.

Older style construction timber jetty. Very deep swift-flowing water in Swansea Channel, 50m west of Swansea Bridge. Use by skilled mariners only is recommended.

Toronto Boat Ramp
Lions Park; Off Anzac Parade, Toronto
The water is shallow around this concrete launching ramp. A parking area is partly sealed with grass. Lighting and toilets are close by.

An 8m wide concrete launching ramp with apron walls each side. The parking area is sealed with limited space. The water is shallow. Pump out facilities are located on the public wharf adjoining.

Older style construction timber jetty structure. Toilet/change facilities available. Lake bathing enclosures do not have protective netting or barriers.

Wangi Holiday Park Jetty

Older style construction timber jetty. Water and toilets are available in the park. Pump-out facilities are located at Dobell Park, near Dobell Drive and Kent Place.

The launching ramp is constructed over a rock shelf. The parking area is gravel and there is a fish cleaning table. Toilets are 100m along the foreshore.

Wangi Wangi Public Jetty and Baths

Works to upgrade Wangi Wangi jetty were completed in April 2020. The new jetty provides safer and easier access to the lake for the whole community.
Warners Bay Public Jetty
The Esplanade, Warners Bay
Timber jetty is suitable only for shallow-draft vessels. Water supply and toilet/change facilities are available in the park adjoining.
